Flight Deal: Venice to Bangkok in Business Class on Qatar Airways for €1328/£1170

qatar-sale-4

There’s (yet) another excellent deal out of Venice to Bangkok on Qatar Airways in Business Class. A mere €1328 for the roundtrip ticket. There’s lots of availability for the next few months, and of course both the hard and soft product on Qatar are excellent. You can even go tomorrow and you don’t even need to stay for a full week!

There are several routing options to choose from, and I’ve included a screen grab below.

You want to choose the Business Promo Fare. As you can see, it’s not available every day. For example, you can’t select it on Saturday 1 July. However, even tomorrow, there are lots of options for the cheaper fare of €667.42 (outbound only). There are at least five options available, all with different departure times from DOH to BKK. Choose carefully. There are several different aircraft types available on this routing, all showing at the same discounted price. For me, the obvious choice would be to take the Airbus A380 aircraft option from DOH with the onboard bar area, although you could take a 777 or a 787 if the timings suited you better.

Discounted fares from VCE have been around for a while and they tend to come and go, so book soon if this is of interest. You might also be able to get an extra 5% or 10% off if you enter the code ‘ONTHEGO’ into the Promo Code field if you are booking from the mobile app.

Flight Deal: Stockholm to Auckland in Qatar Business Class £1826/€2076

qatar-sale-4

Qatar Airways is generally regarded as one of the best airlines around, especially in Business Class and First Class. The very frequent sales that they offer, mostly Eastbound from Europe, offer some of the best value luxury flight deals around.

While there is no global QR sale on at the moment, there is a very reasonable Business Promo fare available from Stockholm to Auckland in Business Class. It weighs in at around SEK20,281: that’s approximately £1826/€2076, which while not amazingly cheap is darn good price to get to Auckland in Business Class from Northern Europe.

There is good availability for the next few months. You can find sample routings and fares here.

Those sample flights are operated on the relatively new Boeing 787 aircraft from Stockholm to Doha. The cabin interior is wonderful on the 787, one of the best in the industry.qatar-airways-boeing-787-dreamliner-business-class-review-19

And on the Doha to Auckland sector it’ll be the Boeing 777. The interiors here are no so up-to-date, but they are more than satisfactory for this, the world’s current longest flight. It’s a huge 16 hours from Doha to Auckland (non-stop!) and a whopping 17 hours 40 mins on the way back thanks to those pesky jet-streams!

All-in-all, a reasonable value flight and plenty of time to enjoy the on-board service!

The British Airways World Sale is Now On

britishairways1111

British Airways launched its summer sale yesterday. You can read all about it here. but there is not a lot to get really excited about.

From a luxury flight perspective, there aren’t so many good deals. Here are a few that I noticed that seem OK, especially since they depart from the UK (London), but they are not really stand out fares:

Tampa for £1495
Philadelphia for £1744
New York for £1813
Miami for £1870

There are some slightly better prices to the Caribbean. Kingston for £1195 isn’t too bad and there is good availability right through to May 2018. Punta Cana at £1196 isn’t too shabby either. Heading further east is quite disappointing: Bangkok for £1859 and a remarkable £3256 for Kuala Lumpur is quite the poorest value I’ve seen in a BA sale for some time.

If you want to include a hotel and select a Club World Holiday then there is some slightly better value to be had. You can book the 4-star Occidental Punta Cana hotel on an All-inclusive basis for seven nights with Club World business class flights from London for £1399 per person (based on at least two people sharing). That’s just an additional £203 per person. You would probably spend that on food alone. The other benefit of booking a Club World holiday is that you don’t need to pay the full amount when you make the booking, just a deposit. Apart from that, there are’t so many great holiday deals around, but if you find any gems do let me know!

You can see all of the Luxury flight and holiday offers here. Bookings must be completed by 11 July 2017 and for the most part is for travel up to around June 2018.

Flight Deal: Germany to Malé in Air France Business Class for €1696

airfrance-business_04.jpegThe Air France BEST Business Class seat

Air France is launching a new service (twice per week) from 1 November 2017 from Paris CDG to Malé, the capital of the Maldives on its Boeing 777-200 aircraft. This is not news per se: it was announced back in February by Air France. You can see the February announcement here.

But what is interesting, is that some good value fares for this routing have appeared, although you would have to start your journey in Germany. I priced up a flight for January 2018 for €1696 departing from MUC with relatively short layovers in CDG. See here on Google Flights for the routing. There’s quite a bit of availability over the coming months.

This is probably not the best price you will ever see from mainland Europe to the Maldives, but the AF business class seat and service is one of the best around and that reasonable value.

Flight Deal: Dublin to New York in Business Class £1108

Business Class Deals to New York

There are some good business class deals from Dublin to New York JFK at the moment. The cheapest is available at £1108 (€1266)  on Delta.

This is a direct flight and there is plenty of availability for the next few weeks and for some months after that. A quick search on Google Flights will show you the best deals.

If you would rather fly on a One World carrier, they are almost matching these fares.

The AA direct flight from DUB to JFK, coming back via LHR, comes in at £1216 ($1556), booking on AA.com, sample routing and dates below.

However, if you book on BA.com and prefer to route via LHR you can pick up some BA sectors and mix and match with AA across a variety of options. The prices for these flights come in at £1144 (€1309); again, sample routings and prices below. I’ve included the direct DUB-JFK outbound, but there are lots of options around the same price point.

These aren’t the best ever prices, but they’re not bad given the dates. Cheap positioning flights from the UK might make these especially attractive too.
